One-Day Leadership Workshop
From Seeing to Leading
A one-day, human-centered AI leadership experience that takes your team from recognizing what artificial intelligence is doing to your industry to leading your people through it — deliberately, honestly, and with a plan you can start on Monday. Built on The Phantom Workforce. Facilitated by its author.
Opening Context
Buying AI is easy. Every competitor can buy the same software on the same Tuesday you can — which means the technology was never going to be the advantage. What separates the organizations pulling ahead from the ones quietly falling behind is what their leaders do after the tool arrives: whether they read the pressure honestly, choose to amplify their people instead of simply cutting them, and have the conversations a frightened team actually needs.
That work is learnable. This is the day you learn it.
Most leadership teams have finished sensing that AI matters. What they lack is not awareness but a way to act on it together — a shared language for the forces at work, an honest read of their own organization, and a decision-making discipline that does not expire the moment the technology changes again. From Seeing to Leading gives them all three in a single day.
The Promise
In one day, your leaders move from a way of seeing the age of AI to a way of leading through it. They learn to recognize the forces reshaping their industry, diagnose the risks inside their own organization, choose amplification over subtraction, practice the one conversation that turns fear into agency, and leave with a concrete 30-day leadership plan organized by the book’s Five Ps. They will not leave with slides to file away. They will leave with a diagnosis of their own organization and a dated plan they have already begun.
Who the Workshop Is Designed For
This is a workshop for experienced business leaders, not technologists. It is built for CEOs and senior executives; business-unit, operations, HR and people, learning and development, transformation, and customer-experience leaders; department heads; and the managers responsible for helping teams navigate AI-related change. No technical background is required — only the responsibility of leading people through a moment moving faster than most of them are comfortable with.
It is at its best when a leadership team attends together, so the shared language and the decisions made in the room carry back into the organization intact.
The Leadership Need It Addresses
Organizations rarely struggle simply because change arrives. They struggle because they recognize its significance too late — and then move too slowly, because moving means disrupting a comfortable, profitable, familiar way of working. AI is the fastest of these waves yet, and the cost of a late, passive, cost-cutting response is measured not only in dollars but in lost judgment, lost trust, and lost people.
This day exists to close the gap between seeing and doing — to help a leadership team read its situation honestly and commit, together, to leading the change on purpose rather than absorbing it by default.
What Participants Will Explore
The day follows the arc of the book, module by module, and each module moves quickly from a short story into the participants’ own work.
Leaders begin with the Tilt — the moment a technology shifts from optional advantage to mandatory baseline, with no memo to announce it — and diagnose where their own market is already tilting. They make the compounding cost of delay concrete through the Productivity Gap and locate the AI Flywheel they could start turning. They shift the frame from human versus machine to the Human + AI Equation, and identify, role by role, the human value a machine cannot fake: judgment, trust, taste, and care. They reframe the AI Divide as a learning gap they can close, inoculate themselves against the Cost Trap by generating a real amplify alternative to a proposed cut, and take an honest current-state read of their organization’s maturity through the lens of the augmented workforce.
Then the day turns from diagnosis to leadership. Leaders learn to lead through uncertainty — honesty, agency, and hope, in that order — and practice, out loud, the conversation that turns a team’s fear into agency. Finally, they assemble everything into the Human-Centered AI Leadership System and its Five Ps — Pressure, Purpose, People, Practice, and Proof — and run one real decision through all five before building a 30-day plan.
What Participants Leave With
Every leader leaves with a worked set of their own materials, not a binder of theory: a completed Tilt diagnostic; a Productivity Gap audit and flywheel map; a “What Machines Can’t Fake” sort with the protected value in one of their own roles; an honest AI Divide read and maturity self-assessment; a Cost Trap and amplify worksheet; a rehearsed team conversation with peer feedback; a Five Ps canvas applied to one real decision they brought with them; and a dated 30-day leadership action plan with an accountability partner.
The Experience and How It Is Facilitated
This is a working day, not a lecture. No uninterrupted presentation runs longer than about ten minutes before leaders are back in their own work. Each module opens with a story, moves quickly into diagnosis or practice, and closes with a facilitated debrief that connects the exercise to the participant’s real organization. Leaders work in pairs, at tables, in small groups, and — for the conversation practice — in structured role-play triads where each person leads, is led, and observes.
The tone is honest and practical. Fear is not glossed over; it is named and addressed directly. Nothing is abstract for long. The room’s own challenges, brought in as prework, become the raw material of the day.
Why This Workshop Is Different
This is not an AI-awareness seminar, a software demonstration, or a trend talk. It does not teach tools, platforms, model features, or prompting techniques — plenty of capable organizations already do that well, and we will not duplicate it.
What this day teaches is the human-centered leadership work that makes any of those tools worth having: reading competitive pressure without panic, choosing amplification over subtraction, protecting the human judgment no machine can replace, building real fluency through practice, and measuring what actually matters beyond cost savings. It is grounded in a single, hard-won conviction:
“The future will not be built by organizations with the best artificial intelligence. It will be built by organizations that bring out the best in human intelligence.”
And it is built on original intellectual property. The frameworks in the room — the Tilt, the Five Ps, the augmented workforce, the three conversations — are not borrowed from the general conversation about AI. They come from The Phantom Workforce, and they are taught by the person who wrote them.
Why the Founder Is Uniquely Qualified to Lead It
The workshop is facilitated by Darryl Michael Speach, founder of the AI Experience Institute™ and author of The Phantom Workforce. His perspective on AI does not come from building software. It comes from three decades spent building leadership and workforce capability inside the industries AI is now reshaping — as a Disney Master Facilitator, as Vice President of Learning & Development at New York Life, as Global Head of Learning & Development at Creative Artists Agency, as Chief Learning Officer at Majid Al Futtaim in Dubai, as Dean of Centene University at Fortune 25 Centene, and most recently as Executive Director of Guest Experience and Learning & Development at Qiddiya/SEVEN in Saudi Arabia.
That combination is rare, and it is the reason this day works. As a career learning leader who has built corporate universities and enterprise learning functions from the ground up, Darryl designs the day with Disney master facilitation and curriculum design, not as a speaker: he makes complex ideas accessible without flattening them, creates a room where senior leaders can be honest about what frightens them, and facilitates the consequential conversations most executives never make time for. Because he has led inside healthcare, entertainment, financial services, and hospitality, he can adapt the discussion to your industry, your roles, and your team’s current level of AI fluency. The result is a premium executive-learning experience that moves from insight to application — not a day leaders watch, but a day they work through.
The Value to Your Organization
A leadership team leaves this day aligned on what is actually happening, honest about where their organization stands, and equipped with a shared language and a shared discipline for every AI decision that follows. The Five Ps do not expire when the technology changes; they are five durable questions leaders carry into the next decision, and the next. That is the return: not a one-time jolt of awareness, but a way of leading that compounds.
Who Should Commission the Workshop
This day is typically sponsored by a CEO or senior executive aligning a leadership team; a CHRO, CPO, or chief learning officer building AI-era leadership capability; a business-unit president preparing a function for change; or a transformation, strategy, or people leader who needs decision-makers moving in the same direction. Conference conveners and leadership-offsite planners commission it as a substantive centerpiece for a senior audience.
Delivery
The workshop is delivered in person or live online, for a single intact leadership team or a curated cohort. It is designed as a full day and is tailored to your industry, your roles, and your cohort’s current AI fluency during a short discovery conversation before delivery. Cohort size, composition, and location are agreed as part of scoping.
A Fee Proposal Built Around Your Engagement
Because every leadership team arrives with a different industry, a different level of AI fluency, and a different challenge in front of it, we do not publish a single fixed price. We develop a tailored fee proposal after a brief discovery conversation, so that what we recommend fits your audience, your context, and the outcomes you are after — rather than a package designed for someone else.
The proposal takes into account the factors that genuinely shape a strong engagement: whether the workshop is delivered in person or live online; your location; the size of the cohort; your cohort’s current level of AI acumen; your industry; the composition and seniority of the participants; whether you choose the one-day workshop or the two-day intensive; the degree of customization you would like; and any additional private consultation or advisory support, which is available at an hourly rate. Scoping the engagement around these factors is what allows us to recommend the right experience and to make the day — or the two days — land with your particular leaders.
The best next step is a short conversation. Complete the workshop inquiry form below to arrange an initial consultation call. We will learn about your organization and your cohort, discuss the experience that fits, and, when it is the right moment, prepare a tailored fee proposal for you to consider.
Which Experience Is Right for Your Team
One Day to Align. Two Days to Implement.
Both workshops teach the same system and share the same conviction. They differ in how far you want to go in the room. The one-day workshop is built to move a leadership team from awareness to a clear, shared plan. The two-day intensive is built to make that capability durable — to have each leader apply the whole system to a real challenge, defend it, and leave with a dated plan already underway.
Choose the one-day workshop — From Seeing to Leading — when:
- Your leaders need a shared language for AI and a common, honest read of where the organization stands.
- You want strong alignment and momentum from a single, focused day.
- The immediate goal is a confident decision-making discipline and a 30-day plan, not a fully built implementation plan for each leader.
- You are introducing these ideas to a leadership team for the first time, or setting the frame before a larger transformation.
- Calendars are tight and a full day is the realistic commitment.
Choose the two-day intensive — Leading The Phantom Workforce — when:
- A real change is already underway and the plans made in the room will be implemented, not filed.
- Each leader can bring a genuine scenario they own and want to leave with a dated 60- or 90-day plan for it.
- You want deep practice of all three leadership conversations, not just the team conversation.
- You value the rigor of peers pressure-testing each leader’s plan and a facilitator coaching it toward feasibility.
- The stakes are high enough that the plan has to be real, tested, and accountable before anyone leaves.
A frequent path: organizations use the one-day workshop to align a broad leadership group, then commission the two-day intensive for the smaller team that will own implementation. We are glad to advise on sequencing during your consultation.
